We first observed these in use in Katmandu, Nepal. Every hotel had a solar water heating system. We were so impressed we went to a local USA manufacturing company, and asked them to engineer a passive solar water heater. This unit will preheat your water, from the sun, to 138 to 149 degrees, and will feed it into your existing water tank. No need to change tanks! Just install this where it can get maximum sunlight, and your water will be heated from the sun. It will not freeze in the winter, and even works on cloudy days. Keep your present connection, in case of "no sun" days, but count on your water heater getting "preheated" water 80% of the time. Your thermostat simply will not turn on, saving you electricity or gas.

Our unit is the best bargain available today! Plus, get tax credits, from the government as additional incentives. Our demonstraton home has a normal bill of $800 per month, for gas and electric heating and water heating. Installed in January of 2009, the unit has reduced the monthly bill to $200, saving the building owner $600 per month.

These units are designed in panels of approximately 4 by 6'. Each panel will take care of the needs of a typical mid sized home, we are estimated providing preheated hot water for 7 to 10 people (depending upon your sun intensity). For commercial applications, simply "serial" multiple panels. 20 panels will heat a 5,000 s.f. home. A 50,000 s.f. hotel or prison would have 200 panels and provide hot water for several hundred people. The hot water heating is "free" from the sun!

Each panel is a set of "evacuated tubes" and water continually circulates, through the heat chamber, continually "solar" heating your water, and refilling your tank with preheated water.
